BT's "Turkey Trot" & "Black Friday Blood Fest" Events!

Each month, Basement Transmissions hosts a huge event showcasing the best of our local bands in Erie PA. But this month, we're hosting TWO huge events. We're also offering a special ticket, as a way to encourage our regulars to pay for both days on ONE GO, rather than separately! You can purchase that ticket from this blog, at the bottom. (Remember, this is ONLY AVAILABLE ONLINE!)

The first event is "BT's TURKEY TROT" on Wednesday, November 27; featuring Kevlar, Teatime for Three, Sonder, Br'er, and Clusterfunk!

So far, Kevlar has been involved since we opened our doors back in 2011! From changing members, to logo, to never ending popularity, this band never ceases to amaze us. They've been HUGE supporters of ours, as well as their main promoter and biggest supporter, Frank Sanzo of Don Frankie Productions. They deserve all the highlights anyone can give them, for they work so hard. Brian Lowery, Nick & Anthony Sanzo, and Jake Flaugh made a great accomplishment this year by winning the REMA's for BEST ROCK BAND!

Teatime for Three is another great upcoming band. They're a fast paced fun psuedo-rockabilly garage band featuring two new faces into our 'scene', Jack Ryes and Eli Kerr. They also have two former members (Nick Dzuricky & Aaron Sutton) from the legendary teeny-bopper band; Susan, Be Anthony! These two also have another goofy side project, known as The Ladder Coins. So of course they're going to be a crowd involved band.

Sonder is another soon to be legendary local Punk/Emo band. It has members from all over Erie's Punk community; from bands like Squid Vicious and The Concrete Summer. This includes Julia Haight (Waking Yesterday), Will Taylor (Automatic Karl), Devon Brown (FML, Syphon X), Jon Blanchard, and Ralph DiLullo (Spud Dog). They actually originally started with Ethan Oliva's vocals, until he needed to step down, for he was too involved with Barlow and the new powerviolence band, Box of Lamb. These kids are really happy with what is going on in this new band, and we're excited as well.

Finally, Clusterfunk is a brand new band that will be opening at BT's Turkey Trot! The band consists of Jake Brown (17 Occasions), Collin Stevens, Nick DiNuzio, and Liam Dunn. They're claiming they'll sound like 'Funky Hard Rock Blues', so we're pretty excited to see what these guys have to offer. There's never too many young local bands!

The second event will be "BT's BLACK FRIDAY BLOOD FEST" (Friday, November 29) featuring locals From the Ashes and Bail Easy, and non-locals Valiance and Killing Thing.

From the Ashes is a very well known young local Metal band with a great following, that's also been involved with BT from the start. Zach Krahe, Kasi Borden, Zach Dean, and Noah Wilmoth will be officially be performing FTA's last show at the Black Friday Blood Fest, so be sure to check them out before it's too late!

Bail Easy is another band that has been heavily involved with BT from the very start of our venue. They've also come a long way with member changes, genre alterations, and crowd preference. Bail Easy started as a Rock School band, which helped them spread their wings when they graduated from that scene. They have shared the stage, at our venue, with huge acts such as: For All Those Sleeping, Close to Home, My Ticket Home, The Browning, Buried in Verona, Get Scared, and The Plot in You!

Finally, we get to the non-locals; Br'er, Valiance, and Killing Thing.

  • Br'er is a high end indie rock band from Philly, featuring members from two of BT's all time favorite touring bands, Eskimeaux and Paperhaus.
  • Valiance is a grimey Metal/Deathcore/Hardcore band, who will be playing BT for the second time on Friday. They had a GREAT crowd response last time they played, and we know that will happen again during our Blood-Fest.
  • Killing Thing is a Heavy Metal/Hardcore band from Pittsburgh.  They have members from Underscore Adia, who have played BT various times, but this will be Killing Thing's first time playing on our stage.

Again, be sure to check out these bands online and at our venue. They deserve the crowds and you deserve to hear them! Be sure to get tickets from either the LOCAL band members or simply purchase them directly from us ONLINE here:
